Media and publication monitoring
Spot the publication before it becomes your biggest problem.
Discuss this task ↗What the
work includes
We define names, spelling variants, products and topics, then agree on sources and relevance criteria. Each new mention is assessed in context: who published it, where the information originated, whether it is being repeated and whether a response is needed.
Keywords and topics
↗Context and original source analysis
↗Briefings and risk signals
↗What you receive
An agreed source list, a mention feed, analytical briefings and recommendations. Coverage of Telegram, search results and restricted platforms is agreed separately and depends on available data sources.
Understand
Review search results, mentions, sources and the actual causes of risk.
Plan
Agree on objectives, strategy, channels, timing and measures of progress.
Act
Prepare content, support requests and coordinate placements.
Verify
Record links, responses and changes. Use the findings to refine the plan.
Media and internet monitoring that supports decisions
A news item, blog post or Telegram discussion can change the context around a brand before a journalist contacts it. Publication monitoring helps identify signals, check the original source and choose a response. We shape monitoring around a company, individual, product or industry topic.
Which mentions we track
We start with a vocabulary of full and abbreviated names, executives, products, projects, transliterations and common misspellings. We add topical queries and exclusions, then agree on news sites, blogs, public channels and other available sources, together with language, geography and reporting frequency.
Coverage depends on connected sources and data providers. A platform being part of the agency network does not automatically provide access to every publication on it. Each project documents the monitoring scope and any coverage limitations.
From a link to an understanding of the situation
We distinguish original reporting, reprints and independent responses. We check dates, authorship, quotations and new developments. Sentiment is assessed in context: a negative word does not automatically make a story a reputational threat, and a neutral headline can still contain important risk.
For a significant signal, we record its priority, owner and recommended action: observe, verify facts, prepare a response, contact the platform or activate crisis communications. The team receives decision-making context as well as URLs.
Briefings, trends and follow-through
Reports show relevant topics, distribution sources and changes since the previous period. We retain links and action history, distinguishing confirmed facts from questions requiring further checks. Reporting frequency, notification channels and response arrangements are agreed with your team at launch.
Monitoring that supports a decision
Media monitoring helps during a launch, organisational change, public dispute or ongoing awareness campaign. We define the questions first: where a story started, who is developing it, what new facts appeared and which team member needs the signal.
An original claim, a significant source and a verbatim republication carry different information. Separating them gives editors, communications staff and managers a shared view without asking them to read the same story repeatedly.
A report designed around your workflow
Operational alerts need a link, time, short explanation and recommended next step. Planning reports may focus on recurring themes, the source mix, audience questions and the response to earlier actions. We agree on the format with the people who will use it.
Before launch, we confirm terms, languages, regions and accessible platforms. Telegram monitoring, image tracking and specific search queries require their own data sources and coverage agreement. The size of our network does not imply access to every private platform.
Questions before we start
Can Telegram channels be monitored?+
Yes, within the agreed list of accessible sources and the data provider’s capabilities. Access to private channels and historical coverage require separate arrangements; coverage of all Telegram cannot be assumed.
How is monitoring different from an audit?+
An audit records the situation at a given point. Monitoring regularly detects changes and new mentions. Together, they provide a baseline and a way to assess subsequent developments.
What is needed to start?+
Brand and product names, relevant people, languages, regions and examples of important publications. We also agree on exclusions, briefing frequency and situations that should receive priority attention.
