Image removal from search

Work on the original image source and its visibility in Google and Yandex.

Discuss this task ↗
01 / SCOPE

What the
work includes

Removing an image from a website and excluding it from search are separate processes. We first identify the source and the grounds for a request. After the original material changes or is removed, we review options for refreshing search results. Google and Yandex procedures are assessed separately.

01

Identify the original page

02

Record image URLs

03

Check applicable grounds

04

Refresh outdated search results

02 / DELIVERABLES

What you receive

An image source map, prepared requests and visibility checks for agreed queries. Excluding a search result does not by itself remove the image file from someone else’s website.

01

Understand

Review search results, mentions, sources and the actual causes of risk.

02

Plan

Agree on objectives, strategy, channels, timing and measures of progress.

03

Act

Prepare content, support requests and coordinate placements.

04

Verify

Record links, responses and changes. Use the findings to refine the plan.

KREMLIN BOT / IN PRACTICE

Image and photo removal from Google and Yandex

An unwanted photograph may appear on several websites and in different search results. Addressing its visibility requires the original page, direct image URL and grounds for a request. We help map where an image appears and organise work with source owners and search engines.

Finding the file, page and copies

We collect page links, direct image addresses, cropped variants and available copies. Screenshots provide supporting records, while requests use exact URLs. We check for other file versions and identify searches that surface the image, such as a name, company, event or product.

Priorities depend on source visibility and relevance to your goal. An image appearing in search does not establish who first published it or who owns the website. These points are reviewed before selecting a request route.

Working with the source and grounds

Copyright, certain personal information and outdated results have different procedures. We assess which situation applies and what evidence is needed. A website request may concern the file or page itself, while a search request concerns the display of a particular result.

Changing one URL does not automatically remove every copy. We record the status and next step for each important version. If the original has already changed or disappeared, we separately assess whether an outdated-result update is applicable.

Checking visibility after changes

We compare initial and current results for agreed queries and regions, check page and image availability, and record check dates and platform responses. File removal, page changes and search delisting are reported as separate events, each with its own timing.

Every source of an image matters

One image may appear on several pages, thumbnails and republications. Work on Google or Yandex image visibility therefore starts with a source map: the page address, the direct file URL and the context in which it appears.

We then examine the applicable route, such as copyright, specific private information or an outdated result after a source change. Source deletion and search-result exclusion are separate tasks with separate evidence.

Checking visibility changes carefully

We review the source page, file availability and agreed search terms. Dates and viewing conditions matter because a difference between regions or devices is not necessarily a lasting result. Newly discovered copies are added to the source list.

To begin, send the image or page URL and explain your connection with the material. Avoid excessive identity documents in the public form. If a procedure needs proof of authority, we will agree on the necessary information and how to provide it.

Questions before we start

Why can a photo remain in search after website removal?+

The search engine may need to update its information, or the result may point to another copy. We check the specific result and current source, then select the appropriate request channel.

Can an image be addressed in both search engines?+

Separate Google and Yandex requests can be supported. Grounds, forms and decisions differ; a change in one service does not automatically change the other.

Is a screenshot of the photo enough?+

It can help explain the situation, but the page and file links are generally needed. If the exact address is unknown, we begin by finding the source and recording available copies.
