01 / SCOPE

What the
work includes

DMCA concerns copyright protection. We examine the work being used, ownership and the grounds for a request. We collect links and supporting evidence, prepare a factual description and support communication with the relevant platform.

01

Record originals and copies

02

Verify the claimant’s authority

03

Prepare requests

04

Track replies and status

02 / DELIVERABLES

What you receive

A disputed URL register, supporting evidence and a request log. The recipient decides the outcome; disputed ownership may require specialist legal advice. A publication being unwelcome is not in itself grounds for a DMCA complaint.

01

Understand

Review search results, mentions, sources and the actual causes of risk.

02

Plan

Agree on objectives, strategy, channels, timing and measures of progress.

03

Act

Prepare content, support requests and coordinate placements.

04

Verify

Record links, responses and changes. Use the findings to refine the plan.

KREMLIN BOT / IN PRACTICE

DMCA request preparation: evidence, rights and follow-up

When text, photography, artwork or another work is used without permission, a request needs an accurate description and evidence of the requester’s authority. We help organise materials for copyright requests, identify the platform’s appropriate channel and maintain response history. DMCA concerns copyright; it is not a general-purpose tool for removing criticism.

Information we organise

We record the original work, its location, disputed pages and direct links to copies. We establish who holds the rights and the basis on which any representative acts. Licences, contracts and permissions must be considered when assessing the request.

Each URL receives a record describing the match, discovery date and supporting material. This register helps prevent inaccurate requests and duplicate submissions without new grounds.

How we support a request

We prepare a factual description, approve it with the rights holder and check the information requested by the recipient. A website owner, hosting provider and search engine may have different channels and formats. We separately record the recipient and requested outcome.

Objections, ownership disputes or the need for legal assessment are recorded as separate stages. A specialist lawyer may be needed. A completed template is not a substitute for checking rights.

What the work produces

You receive a URL register, an approved evidence package, a submission log and response statuses. The platform or recipient makes the decision. If a search result is delisted, we separately check the source file; delisting alone does not remove material from another website.

When a copyright request fits the situation

Copyright support starts with the work and evidence of ownership: a photo, text, video, illustration or other protected material. We compare the original and disputed use, identify exact URLs and establish who is authorised to submit the request.

Where employees, contractors or licences are involved, the available rights documents matter. An unfavourable article is not automatically a copyright infringement. We help describe a supported claim and distinguish it from other reputation issues.

Following the request through to an answer

The record includes the submission date, recipient, URLs, supporting evidence and response. If the platform asks for clarification, we help prepare it. If a dispute arises, we review the objection. Changes at the source and changes in search are checked separately.

An initial review may identify a better route, such as correcting a factual error or contacting an editor. Ownership disputes and litigation need an appropriately qualified lawyer. A platform’s final decision cannot be guaranteed in advance.

Questions before we start

Is it DMCA or DCMA?+

The correct abbreviation is DMCA. “DCMA” is a common transposition, but requests should use the correct name and the recipient’s current procedure.

Can a disliked article be reported under copyright?+

Disliking an article does not establish copyright infringement. The work, rights holder and use must be assessed. Factual errors and other issues call for different channels.

How long does a review take?+

Timing depends on the recipient, completeness of information and any objections. After assessment, we describe the stages and follow-up process without promising a third party’s decision by a fixed date.
