Monitoring that makes the next step clear
A hundred links in a report do not automatically help a team decide what to do. Useful monitoring explains where information originated, how it is spreading and whether a response is needed now.
Start with a vocabulary
Include official and abbreviated names, transliterations, products and representatives. A broad query creates noise; an overly narrow query can miss an important publication.
Distinguish a source from a republication
Ten identical articles may all trace back to one publication. Identify the original source, new facts and independent reactions separately. URL counts alone do not establish the scale of a crisis.
Assign a next step
For a significant mention, identify an owner, a proposed action and a time for review. Some situations need a quick response; others need verification or observation. Connecting a signal to a decision is what makes monitoring a working tool.
